reverse proxies

if you are using a reverse proxy, the registered ip address from users visiting your site will always seem to be localhost (, which affects the following features:

Users online is always 1 or 0

Banning is simply not possible

The login cookie being ip dependent is simply redundant

the web server could be configured to pass the ip in another header
eg: X-Real-IP

nginx supports this (I think lighty and apache can also be configured to do it)

then you could configure your blog to look at that header
