The sun is shining and I feel lazy, too lazy to make meme out of this happy horse face. Internet, I'm counting on you....

I hate power point

Just spent 15 min trying to transport our 10 slogans for the IWW Ísland "Know your rights" campaign to power point. Should have been a simple copy - paste job. Weird newlines everywhere. Not possible to reformat text. Gave up after 15 min for 2 slides and still not in right format. I refuse to use this piece of shit ever again.

Update
So when I came home from work I decided to see if Libre Office would do this better. And behold! I copied the text into the slide and no unwanted newlines in sight. Time used: 15 min. Impulses to throw my computer against the wall: 0

First day of summer part one - guerrilla gardening

This Thursday was the first day of summer in Iceland. In Iceland there is only summer and winter. The first day of summer marks the beginning of the month of Harpa (the first summer month) according to the old Norse calendar.

It has been gradually become warmer and it had been over 0° the last week so I though this might be good time to do some gardening. I had found some forgotten potatoes in the fridge, which had started to sprout. The chard I had regrown had gotten to big for its pot as well. Klambratún, the park near my house, used to be a vegetable garden and I decided to do some guerrilla gardening there. I always liked the idea to have public vegetable gardens.

We found a space in among the bushes and started planting. We only had spoons to work with, but fortunately the earth was soft and the four potatoes and chard were soon planted. Lets hope that we will have potatoes and chard to harvest in autumn.

What the hell does your blog title mean?!?!

And isn't it "high as a kite", Christina?

No! This is a phrase from the song High from the Cure. I have a special affinity for the album "Wish". I had been volunteering for the horse festival " Landsmót" in 2006 and had been picking up trash for the whole night while witnessing out of their ass drunk Icelanders. By the end of it I wondered why the hell I had signed up for this. To avoid listening to stories of conquests of drunken girls from the guy who drove me home I decided now is the time finally to listen to it and get to know the Cure. First line of the album:

I really don't know what i'm doing here
I really think I should've gone to bed tonight

I loved them ever since.

When looking for a better blog title than the generic "Tine's Blog", I was looking for phrases with the word "kite" in it (because of pagekite in the domain name) and I remembered that there had been a song from "Wish" which had started with some sort of kite simile.

I like that it does not make sense, but still has meaning. The Cure are awesome with Lyrics.
