Today is Bóndadagur, beginning of the old Icelandic month of "Þorri" the third winter month. Bóndi means in modern Icelandic either farmer (the picture on the side is one of the first that one finds when googling bóndadagur) or husband, and is the day where Icelandic women celebrate the men in their lives by feeding them sausages made out of testicles. I find this a bit passive aggressive, but who am I to judge.
